Ghost Eater Jadis of the Hollow 👻🍴

Jadis and her familiar, Bao, run a little artisanal sandwich shop called "SouFull" deep in the Ghoulish Boglands. As her name suggests, Jadis is a Ghost Eater and consumes spirits, ghouls, souls as her source of power. It's definitely an acquired taste, and not for all wizards.

Soul Consumption

Raw souls appear immediately at the time of death of any being. Soul Consumption is a practice by Ghost Eaters who consume those souls. Since the soul may not have time to process its death, intense emotions may linger. Eating them in such a state provide intense boosts of power, but also come with side effects and don't taste good. For example, the spirit of a mighty wizard that clumsily fell into the murky waters of the Bog, would give a huge boost of power, but taste salty, musty, bitter as hell and also induce unpredictable fits of rage.

Every soul she ate made her powers more inconsistent and gave her a multitude of side-effects. At 21 grams and 0 calories, none were satisfying to eat. Life in the Boglands was lonely and mundane so Jadis often ate out of boredom. Eventually, over consumption left her with severe disassociation and a lack of purpose. She wandered the Bogs and absorbed every lingering being that crossed her path until she encountered a little white rabbit. She picked him up and he told her his name was Bao. Suddenly, something clicked and she realized she was full.

With Bao's help, Jadis was able to channel her hunger and boredom in other ways. She started learning about culinary techniques to redefine how souls can be eaten (with the best flavors in mind). Methods like pickling, drying and fermenting, distills the soul of raw emotions gained upon death. These processes transform the soul into a safer and easily digestible ingredient, while lessening some negative side-effects. With this discovery, she aims to share her craft with other Soul Eaters and adventurous individuals who may want to experience Soul Consumption.

Recently she's been experimenting with a mobile shop model that allows her to travel and explore the Runiverse. With her Gorgon's Eye and Bao's help, Jadis seeks and captures the freshest souls while learning new techniques and honing her craft.

Her shop is open everyday at all hours, but it can be risky to visit without a reservation or prior notification. Walk-ins are dangerous, especially if she's bored or hangry!
