Part 2 Her mom, Esmer, was a cousin of Enchanter Carly of the Surf. Her dad, Sterg, was a pirate that could communicate with the beasts of the ocean.

When Calli turned one her parents moved away from the busy port and life at the Red Wizard Capital. They settled farther north where the Two Way River meets the Salt bay. On the east side of the river her parents built a cottage facing the ocean. Her dad enjoyed taking his boat out fishing and her mom enjoyed making jewelry.

Calli loved the outdoors and at a young age started to dig in the dirt. When she came inside her mom would laugh, “Calliope Esmer you are the happiest when you are covered in soil and smelling like weeds.” On her next birthday her mom made her several pairs of overalls lined with blue cotton. Sterg got her gardening tools forged by the woodland fairies.
