Archmagus Hadrien of the Quantum Shadow woke up and looked around. He was confused. For starters he had never gone to sleep. Not in the sense that he had forgotten that he had, in the slightly more concerning situation that he had previously never even existed.
All he knew was his name and the fact that a few seconds ago he hadn’t even existed. Taking in his surroundings he knew he was in a cave. Deeper into the cave he could see a very dark shadow retreating rapidly. Next to him was an egg which appeared to have six coloured lights moving around inside it and in front of him was the entrance to the cave. He could hear music from a party drifting through from the other side.
Given the choice it was definitely going to be the light shining through the cave entrance he would choose to head towards, rather than the darkness of the cave behind him. The complete lack of knowledge concerned him, what if it was the wrong choice?
Never mind he thought to himself, the only wrong choice would be not to make one at all. Whatever choice he made would make him who he would become, and that will have been the right choice to the person that he will become anyway.
Picking up the egg which was showing increasing activity he walked into the light leaving a trail of broken egg shell pieces behind as the first elemental creature in a very long time sat happily on his hand, watching and eagerly waiting for what naturally came next for it.
Over the horizon the Yellow Wizard Haven sat unaware of what was approaching. For the first time in over ten thousand years an elemental was again moving towards the object sitting at the core of Yellow Wizard Haven.
