A Hooded Figure Appears
You’re not sure where you are. But, you see a hooded figure before you. He is illuminated, and everything else is dark. Not his face though, which is covered by shadow. Or perhaps there is no face. But there are eyes, or something resembling them. Two glowing blue orbs hovering below the crest of a red hood trimmed with gold thread.
You get the sense that he wants to show you something. There is a book in his hands, a thick tome. It is old yet the pages are somehow pristine. A blue symbol glows on it’s surface. It looks like a rune of some sort, but you don’t get a good look at it.
The figure opens the book and you feel an overwhelming urge of curiosity. You want to see what’s inside. There are images, stories, and ideas. Many of them.
“Hello there,” says a voice in your head. It’s soothing. It sounds like whoever you’d want it to be. This is the voice of the figure.
*“I want to show you something.” *
Yes, you can feel it now. There’s one story in particular t hat he really wants to show you. It will be a long one, but it’s an important one, and it’s a beautiful one. It’s a story of events, but also a story of emotions, many drawn from experiences that are both universal and deeply personal.
He flips through the pages like a picture-book to give you a taste of what’s to come. There are many characters - wizards, warriors, forces representing light, darkness, chaos, all the colors. Some reappear often, though they don’t always look exactly the same, but you know it’s them - the same way as if in a dream. Their essence is what matters.
Sometimes you find yourself so close to a scene it’s as if you’re there yourself. Other times that soothing voice simply fills your head and spins the tale. Some events are portrayed to the minute-detail, others are left for you to fill in the blanks.
You feel yourself getting excited, interested. But, why is he showing you this?
There is some reason, but you don’t know it yet. Maybe when the story is all over it will all make sense. Or maybe, he just likes sharing stories. Maybe he NEEDS to share stories.
“Just enjoy it. Think later,” his voice instructs you as he points to a page with a finger.
