After their successful mission in Goblin Town, Wizard #333 and Wizard #2223 decided to lay low for a while. They chose the Quantum Shadow, a mysterious and vast area of the Runiverse, to disappear into. After traversing the treacherous terrain for days, they stumbled upon a rare outpost of civilization in this chaotic region - a magical tavern known as the Enchanted Alley. The Enchanted Alley was surprisingly unassuming amidst the swirling mists of the Quantum Shadow. From the outside, it seemed like an ordinary tavern, but as Eizo and Jack stepped through the door, they were instantly hit by a wave of magic and ale. It wasn't too crowded, making it the perfect spot to unwind.
Owned by the enigmatic Wizard #148, the tavern boasted of its unique Quantum Bowling lanes and frothy mugs of ale. Aamon himself was behind the counter, his eyes gleaming with a mix of intrigue and hospitality. Sensing an opportunity to glean information, Eizo and Jack settled down for a pint.
Casual chats quickly turned into captivating tales as Aamon shared a recent story from his tavern. He recounted an event involving high stakes gambling that had the entire Enchanted Alley buzzing with excitement. The key player, he described, was a distinctive wizard – a figure in a seemingly glowing yellow cloak, puffing away at a pipe.
"He hustled everyone he played against," Aamon chuckled, swirling his own mug of ale. "The gold kept piling up, and before anyone could blink, he'd won a bundle and even took off with a blessed flame or something." Eizo and Jack exchanged a look at the mention of the flame.
The wizard, it seemed, had departed as mysteriously as he had arrived. Aamon had tried to engage him, asking where he might be headed next, but the wizard remained reticent. No more than a mysterious smile and a puff of pipe smoke was offered in response.
As Eizo was about to probe further, a voice chimed in from a darkened corner of the tavern. A cloaked figure had been quietly eavesdropping on the conversation.
"That pipe-smoking wizard? I reckon I've seen him in The Fey," the stranger declared. "He's a hustler, alright. Clever with his tricks. Made quite a name for himself over there." (https://www.forgottenrunes.com/lore/wizards/959/0)
The tale sparked intrigue in Eizo and Jack. This hustler from The Fey, especially with his newly acquired Sacred Flame sounded like a lead worth following. They decided to head northwest, towards The Fey, to seek out this wizard.
Their route would take them through the Thorn, an area they were already familiar with, and an area where they had a valuable contact. As they made plans to visit their old acquaintance Wizard #7518, they finished their drinks and thanked Aamon for his story.
With renewed purpose, Eizo and Jack left the Enchanted Alley, heading towards a reunion with Finn and eventually to The Fey. Their unexpected detour had opened up a new path, and they were eager to see where it would lead them in the vast expanse of the Runiverse.

Having left the Enchanted Alley behind, Wizard #333 and Wizard #2223 journeyed northwest through the Thorn towards the Fey, on the trail of the pipe-smoking wizard. Their travels were a mix of challenges and discoveries, with each step taking them deeper into the mysteries of the Runiverse.
Their first stop in the Thorn was Wizard #7518's place. A previous contact and a reliable source of information, Finn was always a welcome sight for Eizo and Jack. However, this time they found his place in a state of disarray, ransacked, and Finn was nowhere to be found. The sight was disconcerting, especially when they remembered Finn's stories about the Purple Hat Wizards. (https://www.forgottenrunes.com/lore/wizards/7518/0) Though the Fey was their main focus, Eizo and Jack felt a pang of obligation towards their missing friend. They resolved to investigate the Purple Hat Wizards after their quest in the Fey.
Soon, they crossed the border into the Fey, a place of magic and mystery, where time itself seemed to bend and warp. The Fey was full of fairy folk and other magical creatures, its enchanting forests humming with potent energy.
Eizo and Jack approached every wizard they encountered, asking about a figure with a shimmering yellow cloak, a pipe, and a knack for hustling. At first, they were met with shrugs and puzzled looks, but eventually, their persistence paid off. A gnome with a twinkling eye pointed them towards a secluded house deep in the Fey's mystical woods, believed to be Wizard #959's residence.
Though they had no ill intentions towards Drokore, they were aware that their surprise visit could be alarming. As they approached the house, they saw a dog - presumably Ace - frolicking in the yard, barking joyfully and chasing woodland creatures. It was a scene of simple domestic bliss, a stark contrast to the tension they felt.
Eizo and Jack watched the scene, formulating a plan. Threatening Drokore with his dog seemed like an easy way to secure the flame. But as they waited, hidden in the dense Fey foliage, they couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. Their journey, which had started out as a straightforward mission, was taking an unexpected turn. They just hoped it wouldn't lead to unnecessary harm. Meanwhile, inside the house, Drokore remained blissfully unaware of the unexpected visitors lurking outside, his peaceful day on the verge of taking a rather alarming turn.
