How It Really Ended
As he left the soulsmith's, suddenly the sun rose backwards, the stars fell flat, and through the darkest veil of time he saw her.
"I'm sorry I took so long. I couldn't figure out which spell to cast incorrectly," she said.
"Who are you?" He said.
She, crest fallen: "Too late."
"Funny name." Said he.
"Come, I'll show you," and she extended her hand.
He knew not why, but he knew he'd follow her anywhere.
And so he followed her into the dark.
