PROLOGUE:

Arcanist Huan of the Psychic Leap was a monk at the lesser known Southern Shaolin Temple, said to be a place of refuge for monks displaced by destruction of the legendary original Shaolin Temple in the north. His Sifu was one of the Five Elders of Shaolin, masters who had survived the destruction of the Original Shaolin temple and guided many monks to safety, ensuring the survival of their traditions, including their revered Shaolin style of Kung Fu.

In his time at the temple Huan sensed a rift forming between the elders as it was rumored a secret manuscript existed that documented a powerful relationship between Kung Fu and magic. One side argued the teachings of the manuscript could be a powerful tool in defending themselves from the ever present attacks by the government. The mysterious manuscript never surfaced and the temple did come under attack creating a new diaspora of monks seeking refuge.

During his wanderings for a new home, Huan met a strange creature, a rat that was very gifted in martial arts. The two would become very close, always seen together, and they built a new temple together far far away.
