The Alchemist of the Mount, his name long forgotten, lives a life of solitude. On seldom occasions, a wayward adventurer crosses his path and has a pleasant exchange with the mysterious yellow-hatted wizard.
The conversation usually begins with a request for directions, followed by remarks about the weather, but it invariably ends up at introductions. This is when our harmony-staffed Alchemist recoils in shame and says that he has no name.
"I'm but an Alchemist here on the mountain," he'll say, leaving little room for the adventurer to continue the conversation.
After some awkward and shallow banter, the adventurer will be on their way, with expert direction and a few gifted provisions from the nameless guide. The Alchemist straightens his sash, slumps his shoulders, and retreats back to his cavern. With a flick of his staff, he lights a fire in the makeshift hearth and looks solemnly at the walking stick leaned carefully in an otherwise empty nook.
