Rain battered the grounds of The Vampyre Mists as Wizard #239 trotted up to a cottage upon a mud-spattered Pony #96. Knocking on the door, Wild Mage inquired, "Apollo, you old codger - you still hiding in this dump?"
Wizard #2029, opening the door slightly, smirked, "And you, still brawling with blue hats?".
They both nodded and grinned.
The two Wizards sat for a while in Archmagus Apollo's house, over a kettle of mushroom tea and a gentle fire. They swapped stories, caught up on each other's research, and even gossiped a bit.
"....four bands?!" Archmagus guffawed.
"Well, it was more than four bands after it was all said and done, but...you should have been there!" Wild Mage started laughing.
"What were those Wizards thinking - transacting with The Shadow like that?" Archmagus shook his head.
"That's what I said!" Wild Mage sipped from his teacup. "I do rather want one for research, though..."
Archmagus raised an eyebrow and studied Wild Mage.
"You know...you don't find out - if you don't fuck around..." Wild Mage cheekily cracked.
Archmagus nodded thoughtfully and shifted in his seat. Wild Mage shifted as well.
"Look, this Kelpie Academy I was telling you about, this job..." Wild Mage trailed off; and then snapped out of it. "This...is some good mushroom tea..."
"No, you're right. My research here is done. It's time for a change of scenery." Archmagus stood up and started picking up the kettle and mugs.
"Well that was quick." Wild Mage rested into his seat. "I didn't think you'd make up your mind so quickly on this."
Archmagus started laughing as he rinsed the dishes. He was still shaking his head and chuckling as he grabbed a satchel.
"I already agreed an hour ago, don't you remember? The work and research sound refreshing and...." Archmagus tilted his head, "How long has it been since you had some good mushroom tea?"
"It's been a minute." Wild Mage chuckled to himself. "That's fantastic about you taking the job, though..." Wild Mage pointed a finger gun at Archmagus.
