Mage Beyna of the Wood, Dean of Operations at the Kelpie Academy, eagerly embarks on her daily trek through the Runiverse, accompanied by her loyal Emerald Slime, Emery, ready to tackle her cherished duties. Enjoying the morning sun shining through the canopies of the huddle trees in The Emerald Forest. Beyna breathes in the sweet scent of the dew-kissed crystal moss and almanac flowers, her foraging pouch jingling with gathered herbs and findings for her crafting hobbies. Paying close attention to the details of the forest floor, peering beneath the large leaves and plant life, examining the bases of the trees, she always knows where the hidden gems are tucked away.
Skipping along with a sense of gratitude she continues on her morning walk…at last! Under a large leaf she discovers a perfectly in tact Blue River Rat skull. What an exciting find for Beyna as she enjoys adding bones, fossils, gems, and pressed plant matter to her crafts, creating woodland ornaments to sell, barter, or gift to others.
Along with this pristine little finding of hers, she carefully snips tiny clips of cute leaves and flowers to add to her next ornament. She reaches into her pouch and pulls out a book titled “Grimoire of Petals and Spirgs”. It’s a bit rugged as she has had it since childhood. Mindfully, she opens it up, gently places her snippets of plant matter onto the page then slowly closes the book ensuring these new findings keep their shape. The Emerald Slime watching intently to ensure they are perfectly pressed in the pages. Even with Beyna being well seasoned to this practice, Emery still becomes aflutter in hopes of not damaging the new findings. She safely places the closed book back into her foraging pouch along with the tiny skull wrapped in a cotton cloth. Slime and Beyna look at each other with relief and excitement as it’s one of their favorite activities to do together. “We call that a successful venture” Beyna assures to Emery with a thumbs-up as he stares happily at her.
Beyna and Emery, their foraging pack filled, continued on their journey for a day’s work at the Kelpie Academy.
