Journal Entry Day 01

Today, I paid a wise man a coin. He told me to spend the remaining coin I had on ink and parchment. He then told me that every day I am to write down what has happened to me and my thoughts. The old man said, "You look like you have mastered the sword, but you have not yet mastered your mind." He went on to say he believed that true mastery comes from relentless practice, allowing the warrior to act instinctively in any situation and that I have yet to master myself. I feel stupid for having spent a coin to be told to spend more coin to write about myself. However, it seems like the catalyst to actually begin this process. As I write I find myself diving into the ocean of my thoughts and memories. Remembering all of my past. The good, the bad, and the ulgy. The only thing I am certain of now is true strength comes from within and that one should not depend on others for their success.
