Wulfrum Paragon of Area 71

Wulfrum Paragon of Area 71 was one of the very few warriors that had spent their whole life in Area 71. The areas were artificial designations given to an location controlled by a single post singularity AI. Most areas are lost to history now but Area 71 is clearly defined even on modern maps. Early on in the singularity war an AI had tried to prevent any wizards from entering the area. No one knows what the AI was trying to protect specifically but the semi-intelligent defences it created were designed to destroy any wizard or human it came into contact with.

Due to the speed at which the new automated defences reacted to the presence of wizards, the attackers were not able to use their magic to overcome it so they came up with a new plan. For a small percentage of the automated defences the artificer wizards inverted their instructions, causing them to only attack any artificial life in Area 71, resulting in the destruction of the AI that had been operating there.

Long after the singularity war ended this led to a new equilibrium, Area 71 became a constant battlefield where nothing that was purely biological or AI could survive. The same targeting software that was used by both sets of defences could be confused however, if something was neither fully AI or biological but some strange mix they didn’t recognise. In this case both sets of defences just moved on to scanning the next object it could find.

A new form of society took root in Area 71, one where only warriors that were both part man and part machine could survive. They could live there safely until the tragic day where either enough of their biological matter decayed or their technology accidentally shut down causing the defence system to recognise them as a threat and terminate them.

Wulfrum's survival, due to his Megasuit, made the other citizens consider him a paragon of how to explore Area 71 safely. He travels constantly day and night hoping to one day locate whatever it was that was being protected by the AI. 

Legend has it that it was an unused Ascension Key, but everyone in the Runiverse knows that those don’t exist!
