Introduction to Taȑken
Taȑken: The way of my art form
My master trained me in the art form of Taȑken, an ancient martial art that has been passed down to only a select full. Here is a quick introduction to Taȑken at its very foundational basics. These basics are ones you may seem to reach perfection only to find a whole new level opening up.
A dominating close combat martial art that emphasizes speed and efficiency of disabling a foe. Speed to execute moves faster than your opponent. Efficiency to attack with pinpoint accuracy to disable/reduce the combat effectiveness of the target or inflict fatal attacks. Combining both speed and accuracy of a Taȑken attack can also work to nullify an incoming attack before it is fully executed. It is highly effective in 1v1 duels and in multiple combatant situations.
Anyone can practice Taȑken as a form of martial art, but a skilled user requires deep inner calmness, strong observational ability and excellent instant decision making.
Inner calmness is a necessary foundation to understand oneself fully and to evaluate all factors in the combat situation. A Taȑken practitioner must clearly understand their own strengths and weakness, current physical and mental condition, and how it measures up to the combat situation and the opposing combatants. Long hours of solitude and meditation is necessary to build this inner strength and understanding.
Strong observational abilities are required to survey the combat environment and identify combatants attack patterns. A Taȑken practitioner leverages every available advantage in the combat environment. The natural elements of sun, wind, water, ground and physical location of objects can provide hidden advantages. An opponent’s movements can reveal patterns, tendencies and weakness areas that can be exploited.
Excellent decision making completes the core competencies needed for flawless execution. The know-thy-self coupled with know-thy-enemy together with know-thy-environment presents a vast amount of information needed to be processed, evaluated and acted upon instantaneously. This allows a practitioner to quickly dispose of a target with minimum effort and be ready to face the next challenge with maximum resources.
