The Brigand people of Runiverse live in the fringes of society, outcasts who are shunned by others defined but their tendency for thievery or banditry. It is hard to know if the Brigands have always been this way by choose, or as people have come to expect this from them that they have no other choose then to continue down this path. Every now and then there will be a Brigand who desires to change this destiny laid out for them by society and transform into someone with power helping improve their status in life and those close to them. One such Brigand was Brutus who decided to use his skill with his Dane axe and wooden buckler shield and headed to the Arena. People from far and wide travel with the hopes of being in the crowd of the Arena. Battles here are said to attract the best of the Runiverse warriors and warriors to be hoping to prove themselves and reign victorious. The Arena’s battles are not only a test of physical strength but are a test of a warrior’s skill, supernatural abilities and ability to adjust their strategy on the spot, as one decision can be the catalyst to their victory or defeat. In the beginning levels of the Arena warriors that prove their worth can manifest a rune and or join up with a companion. Before a want to be warrior is allowed to fight against another human they must prove their skills against animals by defeating them or managing to stay alive during their battle. During the battle of Klok, Brutus entered the Arena with 37 other warriors and 100 lethal animals. This was the first battle where warriors not only had to combat the animals but other warriors as well. Throughout the battle, Brutus used not only his stealth skills he had learned through his childhood of thievery but his strength and defeated the most opponents out of anyone of the warriors that day. It was here that the crowd started chanting out Brutus the Amputator of the Arena a name that draws crowds even today. Throughout the battle Brutus caught the eye of the onyx panther Thunder who Brutus had saved a handful of times within the battle as he came up behind and dismembering other warriors. Thunder returned the favour when Brutus found himself trapped by three warriors that had teamed up to take him out. After taking down the warriors, Brutus and Thunder exchange a knowing glance between themselves and they continued on together to be the last ones standing. The Rune of Cinnabar allows a user to transform both the physical and spiritual realms. As Brutus worked his way through both physical obstacles in the Arena and showed his might against other warriors the Rune of Cinnabar manifested within him. The rune allows Brutus to transform his otherwise ordinary shield and axe into unimaginable weapons of destruction or protection. Brutus continues to live up to his name of the Amputator of the Arena, as brave warriors continue to take him on. The Arena has given Brutus more then he could have imagined when he first set off down this path, fame, fortune, a rune and most importantly Thunder.
