In the climactic battle, she faced Mordrak atop the highest peak in her realm. The duel was fierce, their spells tearing the very fabric of reality asunder. In a desperate move, Mordrak cast a dark curse upon Sonja, a spell of such malevolent power that it would condemn her soul to eternal suffering.

But Sonja was not easily vanquished. Using the last of her strength, she trapped Mordrak in a magical prison, banishing him to the nether realms. However, the curse had already taken hold. As the kingdom lay in ruins and her people fled, Sonja succumbed to the dark magic. Her once vibrant and kind spirit was twisted and corrupted, and she was transformed into a Lich—an undead sorceress of immense power.

Renaming herself Lich Baron Sonja, she claimed the remnants of her kingdom as her own dark domain. The lush valley became a barren wasteland, shrouded in a perpetual death cloud that stole the life from any who dared to enter. From her dark citadel, Sonja ruled over legions of the undead, her heart now as cold and lifeless as her skeletal visage.

Though corrupted by the curse, a fragment of Sonja's original purpose remained. She sought not to conquer but to protect her desolate realm from any who might bring further suffering. Legends say that deep within her citadel lies a fragment of the old Sonja, forever struggling against the darkness that has claimed her soul. It is whispered that should a hero of pure heart and unyielding will arise, they might yet redeem Lich Baron Sonja and lift the curse that binds her.

But until that day comes, Sonja's Death Cloud continues to spread, a grim reminder of the cost of dark magic and the eternal struggle between light and darkness.
