The Aristocrat’s Treasure

Written by Wizard on the Coast (Wizard #7688)

Mystic Sisk of El Dorado, an aristocrat of immense wealth, particularly in gold, traversed the Runiverse, exploring its finest destinations. From the opulent estates of the Colorless Oblivion to the towering hotels of Chronomancer’s Riviera, Sisk indulged in the most luxurious experiences the Runiverse had to offer. The moment he entered a room, his presence radiated wealth. Clad in aristocratic blue robes that shimmered with intricate gold embroidery, and wielding an ornate orb staff that gleamed with arcane energy, he commanded attention. Even his familiar, a blue rat named Gleam, was impeccably groomed, its silky coat shimmering in the light, a testament to Sisk’s refined taste. Commoners knew instantly they were in the presence of grandeur.

Through his lavish travels, Sisk developed a deep appreciation for art. The immaculate statues, breathtaking architecture, and ostentatious displays of wealth he encountered sparked a sense of wonder in him. He began collecting art from across the Runiverse, seeking out works by artists with boundless imagination.

One fateful day, outside Allesar Keep, Sisk noticed a young wizard doodling a sketch beneath the shade of an ancient oak tree. Her art was unpolished compared to the masterpieces he’d seen, yet it exuded a unique charm and sense of wonder that captivated him. Intrigued, Sisk approached her with a warm smile. “May I see what you’re working on?” he asked, his voice kind but commanding.

The young wizard glanced up, her eyes meeting the towering figure before her. Though Sisk’s presence was imposing, there was a gentleness in his demeanor that put her at ease. Still, she hesitated, clutching her sketchbook. “Sorry if it looks kinda rushed compared to my other art,” she said shyly. “I lowkey messed up on the line art and colors.”

Sisk’s eyes softened as he examined the sketch. Though simpler than the luxurious pieces in his collection, it held a raw, heartfelt quality that resonated with him. “It’s wonderful,” he said sincerely. “I’d like to purchase it from you.” The young wizard laughed, her smile bright and unguarded. “You can have it,” she said. “My passion is art, and I’d love to share it with you.”

Sisk was taken aback by her generosity, a rare trait in the world of opulence he inhabited. He accepted the sketch with gratitude, turning it over in his hands as if it were a priceless treasure. “Of all the art I’ve collected in my lifetime, this is my favorite,” he said earnestly. “Where did you learn to create such artwork?”

The young wizard’s eyes sparkled with pride. “I’m a student at the Kelpie Academy,” she replied. “Art class is my favorite.” “Kelpie Academy?” Sisk mused, intrigued. “It sounds prestigious. I must visit this place. Where is it located?”

The student’s expression grew serious. “It’s a dangerous path for most, but I have safe passage through the Quiet Forest. The Ents know me, and I can guide us there safely. Follow me, but stay close.”

With Gleam scurrying at his heels, Sisk followed the young wizard toward the Quiet Forest, their footsteps light but purposeful as they ventured toward the fabled Kelpie Academy.
